Wils' Tribes 2 Reticles
-----------------------
Wilsrets is a set of replacement reticles for Tribes 2.
Sounds boring, and it is :)

Updates
-------
27/10/2002:
Remade the reticles for chaingun, both mortars (tank and player), grenade launcher and missile launcher.
Chaingun is less cluttered and closer to the original, albeit with a one pixel thick black outline so it shows up in front of bright surfaces.
Player and tank mortar reticles are less clunky. I removed the octagonal outline and replaced it with a slightly thinner circular one.
Grenade launcher has had a similar treatment to the mortar rets - the inner circle is now a true circle instead of an octagon.
Missile launcher is mostly unchanged; I removed the vertical and horizontal bars around the edges to reduce the clutter a bit.

12/05/2002:
Added .bm8 versions of all the reticles, so they should hopefully work for people using palletised textures now.
Thanks to Da_Timsta and TheWizard for hosting the pngtobm8 converter and letting me know about it, respectively :)

Installation
------------
Extract wilsrets.vl2 into your Tribes 2/gamedata/base folder.

Changes from default T2 reticles:

	- All (ok, most) reticles are colour-coded to match either the weapon's projectiles or some element of the weapon itself (the mortar reticle is green, for example, whereas the chaingun reticle is light grey).

	- Each reticle has a slight black outline to make it more visible against the sky/water/explosions etc. This comes with a tradeoff, namely that until you get used to seeing through them, these reticles can be quite distracting in comparison with the T2 originals.

	- Most of the reticles have been trimmed down or resized to remove superfluous elements such as stray lines and borders, unless it made them too similar to another reticle.

	- Targeting laser and sniper rifle reticles have been altered to give them a slightly outlined centre with fading axis lines.

	- The ring around all reticles has been removed via the use a .png with a blank alpha channel. It hasn't been used for anything since the early T2 betas anyhow :)

	- Shrike reticle has been remade from scratch using verticle and horizontal lines rather than a 45 degree crosshair shape.

Legal Stuff

These reticle graphics are 2001-2002 Wils.idk?.

If you want to use any of these reticles in your own pack please contact me first for permission. I'm very likely to say yes - most Tribes 2 scripts and packs seem to be derived from other peoples work, and I have no problem with that - I'd just like to know what they're being used for :)
